RECORDING ARTIST

Aleyna Brown's performance abilities extend beyond classical flute and reed doubling. She frequently performs her original songwriting live and in the recording studio as a guitarist and vocalist. Aleyna began playing guitar at the age of eight, after borrowing her dad's Fender Gemini II acoustic... which she has continued to "borrow" for the last two decades. Her style varies from folk to blues to rock, all with her unique guitar fingerpicking style complemented by her sultry blues vocals.

When in the recording studio, Aleyna experiments with harmonizing over her own vocals, often a dozen or more layers, spanning her expansive vocal range of C3-G5. Being an audio engineer herself, she has an ear for precision on both sides of the recording studio glass.

As a lyricist, Aleyna explores themes of love, strength, pain, and mental health through vulnerable storytelling and artful metaphor.

Hear her artistry come to life in Aleyna's debut independent studio album, EXHALE.

Outside of the studio, Aleyna performs live in local bars, cafes, and stages. In her live set, Aleyna plays many of the tracks from EXHALE as well as some unreleased originals, mixed in with some covers of blues and jazz standards as well as renditions of some of her favorite tracks by artists including Hozier, Fleet Foxes, and Amy Winehouse.

Aleyna and her three-piece gig band performed an EXHALE album preview set at CAT FEST 2018—a music festival presented by Cat Family Records with over 50 acts across 5 stages at Railroad Square Art Park in Tallahassee, FL.
