MEET ALEYNA
Aleyna Brown is a contemporary American composer, multi-instrumentalist, audio engineer, and educator based in Dallas, TX. In her roles as a leader and artist in the music industry, Aleyna is an advocate of inclusive concert programming and the exploration of femininity in music and art. Her most recent exhibition included immersive multi-media premieres and interactive installations of activist art exploring FEMININITY: Ownership and Power.
As a COMPOSER, Aleyna has scored short films and composed concert works for orchestra, mixed chamber ensembles, solo instruments, multimedia and live electronics, with premieres across the United States. She particularly enjoys collaborating across artistic disciplines and genres including contemporary dance, intermedia, free improvisation, and popular music. Her most recent premiere was by the International Flute Orchestra in Chicago August 2022 at the National Flute Association Convention.
As a PERFORMER, Aleyna has performed as a concerto soloist, contemporary music flutist, recording artist, pit orchestra member for theater, opera, and ballet, and orchestral flutist in the U.S. and Italy.
As an AUDIO ENGINEER and producer, Aleyna has worked with award-winning clients across a variety of genres. She is AVID-certified in Pro Tools. With this training she composed, arranged, recorded, mixed, and mastered her own debut album “EXHALE,” released May 18, 2019. Aleyna currently engineers out of studios in Dallas-Fort Worth, TX and is available to travel for production hires.
As a RECORDING ARTIST and singer-songwriter, Aleyna writes original music with her unique blues-infused folk fingerpicking style of guitar playing and expansive vocal range. As a TEACHER, Aleyna has pedagogical training and experience teaching lessons, music theory, and audio engineering to all levels. She currently serves as Adjunct Professor of Music Industry Studies at the University of Texas - Arlington, where she teaches courses in Digital Music Technology, Game Audio, Film Composition, and Recording Techniques as an AVID-certified Instructor in Pro Tools. She has served as the instructor for two collegiate Music Audio Engineering courses at the University of North Texas College of Music: "MIDI Sequencing in Logic Pro X" and "Audio Recording & Editing in Pro Tools." Aleyna is a music creator registered with ASCAP, with which she also maintains publishing membership as the creator and owner of her independent publishing company, RED PIN PUBLISHING.
Aleyna earned her three bachelors degrees from Florida State University graduating summa cum laude in 2018.
